Britain's biggest snowman raises cash for air ambulance charity

Faced with the worst snow in nearly half a century Jan Czugalinski and his friends didn't retreat indoors citing health and safety rules. Instead they armed themselves with buckets and spades and built a giant snowman, reaching over 20ft in height, as a way of raising money for their local Air Ambulance.

And when vandals in demolished the original snowman Mr Czugalinski and his team simply built another one. The end result was three feet taller than a similar giant snowman built in Aberdeen during the great freeze of 1963. Mind you, that one appeared to have been built by two little girls (presumably with the help of their parents and a stepladder).
